It's Monday and you all know what that means!

Books I'm Listening to/Reading

What I Talk About When I Talk About Running: A Memoir by Haruki Murakami (audio book)

The Burma Spring: Aung San Suu Kyi and the New Struggle for the Soul of a Nation by Rena Pederson

Article of the Week

By the Numbers: How Losing Weight Improves Cycling Performance - any search for ideas and strategies on how to get faster on the bike will give the desperate information seeker any number of ways to spend money on more aero gear, lighter bike products, etc etc. But have you ever wondered how shedding a few pounds here and there might improve your performance? The numbers can be quite informative.

Words that Caught My Eye

“If you do nothing, you get nothing.” ~ Aung San Suu Kyi

Gear that is Cool

Garmin Varia Vision - Heads Up Display. Now I'm not sure if this is worth $399 USD ($512 CAD), not that the technology isn't cool, but it is essentially just an alternate display from your existing bike computer.  That being said, I can see the potential safety benefits and the added benefit of feeling like you are cyborg is pretty neat.

Stretches of the Week

This week I've decided to forgo the youtube video on stretches and put in an article that focuses on the Core - How-To: Train the Most Important Core Muscles for Cycling

I've been focusing on strengthening my core and feel it is a nice little change. It isn't rock science, but maybe, just maybe you're like me and sometimes need to be reminded of the importance of your core and why it matters not to ignore it.

Happy Training Everyone!
